Helping students start youth groups that are LGBTQ+ safe spaces and welcoming to all
One of our founding members, Alma, is on a mission to help students around the world start their own youth groups — where they feel welcome, safe, and can have fun.
Hello! I'm Alma.
My name is Alma, and I helped start a youth group designed to welcome those who feel excluded or like they don't fit it. We're a LGBTQ+ safe space youth group called Color Outside the Lines.
My friends and I started this group because we live in a teeny tiny town where we could not find a youth group that wasn't judging us or trying to bring us into their religion.
We took inspiration from the teen and tween hangout at Atlanta Pride in 2024 and decided to create our own safe space for queer kids and allies to just be themselves.
And that’s what this is.
I want to spread the word that starting a group is possible, especially in other small towns that may not yet have an established safe space.
Follow along as I create a free, downloadable kit that allows kids in any town to start their own community.
